9 Must-Have Travel Apps

Updated: Feb 17

You love to travel, experience new things, try new food – but you also want to be comfortable in your surroundings.  These travel apps will help you while away from home.  From currency conversion, and language translation, to finding a restroom NOW – these 9 apps are a must-have before you travel.

XE-perience currency on the go – from international money transfers to exchange rates and currency charts, Xe puts all your currency needs into one money transfer app.  This is a must-have when traveling internationally!

International travel?  You don’t have to have Global Entry to get through Customs and Immigration – all you need is the Mobile Passport Control App (and of course a valid passport😋).  Once you have the app and you’ve landed, all you do is enter your flight information and you’re ready to go.  Tip: Create an account when you download the app, it will save you time.  Please note that not all airports may participate in MPC.

Google Translate – Translate between 108 languages. You can download the language file you need for that trip, then you can translate offline.  I’ve used this app so many times.  Believe me when you tell the French cook you loved their food in English they may not have any idea what you’re saying – I’ve found that if I attempt in their language they smile – then when they don’t understand me I show them the app – it works every time.

Flight Tracker 24 - Get in-depth information about; arrivals, departures, terminal & gates, delays, and much more.  Check easily when it's time to go pick up a friend. The Flight Tracker is the most convenient flight app you will find on the App Store. Travel safe & enjoy your flight!

AccuWeather – Good to know before you go.  From weather updates to today’s temperature, get the accurate weather forecast you know you can rely on with AccuWeather. With in-depth forecast news, the latest forecast updates, severe weather alerts, today’s weather, and much more. Our precision and scientific accuracy let you stay one step ahead of the daily forecast and is the weather tracker that makes the unpredictable, and predictable.

ATC Delays – In addition to the Flight Tracker, this ATC Delays gives you access to the Air Traffic Control System Command Center by the Federal Aviation Administration. This tool allows you to view Ground Stop programs, Ground Delay programs, Arrival and Departure Delay programs, and Airport Closures.

Don't let nature's call disrupt your day; let Flush Toilet Finder be your trusted companion on all your adventures. Flush is the ultimate app you need! Whether exploring the city or venturing off the beaten path, Flush Toilet Finder is an absolute must-have. With just a few taps, Flush will guide you to the nearest public bathrooms, saving you precious time (and possibly embarrassment) and ensuring you never have to worry about finding a restroom again.

Uber, where magic meets modern transportation.  Believe it or not, many European cities have Uber!  If you’ve ever used Uber, you know the app is user-friendly, allowing you to request rides, track the driver’s location, and have a seamless payment process.  I’ve used Uber internationally more times than I want to admit, but it is so convenient after a long day of walking at night.

Netflix – Last but not least, you’ll want to have Netflix on at least one of your devices.  Most places have some type of Wi-Fi, and you may need a break at the end of a busy day for some good ol’ downtime – but I don’t think you’ll have time to binge-watch anything!
